He Went Snorkeling In The River, What He Found Almost Made Him Blow His Tank….

Snorkeling is an exciting pastime that many individuals who have done it agree on since you get to explore a brand-new undersea environment.

And while you’re sure to find some interesting things below the water’s surface, one man received way more than he anticipated.

When Martin Sholl was snorkeling in the Colorado River close to the Arizona-California border, a frightening thing occurred.

On the river’s bottom, he came upon two skeletons bound to lawn chairs as he was navigating his underwater exploration. Sholl immediately contacted the police following the discovery of the human remains. According to Sholl, he was snorkeling when he discovered skeleton remains at the river’s bottom. The Colorado River at the boat launch in Cienega Springs was the site of a complaint of “discovered human remains,” to which the La Paz County Sheriff’s Office promptly responded.

However, the skeletons were fake. The forensic diver discovered that it wasn’t really a crime scene at all upon closer inspection. This was a joke rather than the graves of two persons who passed away too soon being discovered. The diver’s footage actually revealed two phony corpses fastened to the lawn chairs.

Apparently, the two fake skeletons sit lounge in the lawn chairs, wearing sunglasses while another sport a wig. It can be assumed that the props had gone undiscovered for some time given the thick layer of sediment on them.

“Skeleton tea party. It was funny. The next day when my friend called and told me that the chaos I created was on every morning show in the country, I was shocked,” Martin Sholl said.

We can only infer this is a reference to the movie Weekend At Bernie’s because the diver removed the sign, revealing it to say, “Bernie living the dream in the river.” The two lead characters in the 1989 movie tote their deceased boss around for days, misplacing and finding his body multiple times. Bernie’s body falls from a boat and into the water at one point in the movie.

“Although the call itself was resource intensive, both the Sheriff’s Office and Buckskin Fire were happy to find that the remains weren’t real and thanked the reporting party for making the call,” the La Paz Sheriff’s Office wrote on Facebook along with the video.

Following the incident, the skeletons have become an instant tourist attraction.
