Trump Not Using His Family Bible To Swear In On… His Reason Is EPIC! Emmanuel January 19, 2017 Politics, US NEWS I’m sure liberals have written some bogus spin off story about how Trump won’t be using his family bible like many Presidents before him because he’s some sort of anti- Christian, as if they think being a Christian is all of a sudden a good thing. But the real reason he isn’t using (only) his own family bible at his Inauguration to swear in on, is because he has decided to use someone else’s as a symbol of this GREAT NATION. Truly epic. Taking the oath on Lincoln’s Bible in addition to his family’s book is an incredible — and auspicious — start to his administration. VIA| As Donald J. Trump is sworn in as the 45th President of the United States of America on Friday, he will be taking the oath of office on a Bible owned by the 16th — and arguably greatest — president. So much for Trump being a racist. “In his first inaugural address, President Lincoln appealed to the ‘better angels of our nature,’” Presidential Inauguration Committee Chairman Tom Barrack said, according to Breitbart. “As he takes the same oath of office 156 years later, President-elect Trump is humbled to place his hand on Bibles that hold special meaning both to his family and to our country.” The New York Daily News reported that Trump will also take the oath of office on a family Bible, given to him by his mother back in 1955 upon his graduation from Sunday Church Primary School at his Queens Presbyterian church. The Lincoln Bible is owned by the Library of Congress and was also used to swear in Barack Obama in 2009. Only Lincoln and Obama have used the Bible to take the oath of office for the presidency — surprising, given Lincoln’s status in America’s firmament of commanders in chief. NPR also reported that Mike Pence’s choice in Bibles was actually just as epic. The vice president-elect will be using the Bible that Ronald Reagan used at both of his inaugural ceremonies as president and his inauguration as governor of California.
