It just got a little harder for Tim Tebow’s detractors to call his impressive run with the St. Lucie Mets a fluke.
In the seventh inning of the Mets’ game Saturday against the Charlotte Stone Crabs, Tebow came to the plate with two runners on base. After working the count to 2-2, he connected on a deep shot over the left field fence.

The blast, Tebow’s fifth since joining the St. Lucie Mets in June, gave his team a 10-3 lead. The former NFL quarterback is now batting .301 through 31 games with High-A St. Lucie.
