Scalise Rips Pelosi for Putting Off SOTU: ‘What Are Democrats Afraid of Americans Hearing?’
House speaker Nancy Pelosi wrote President Trump on Wednesday to rescind her invitation for him to address Congress on January 29th and House Minority Whip Steve Scalise isn’t having it.
Pelosi asked President Trump to either push the date forward or provide the Union address in written form.
President Trump, on the other hand, is ready to give his address on the 29th where he will explain his agenda for his third year in office.
Pelosi claimed that her reasons for wanting to push the Union Address forward was because of the government shutdown and “security concerns.” Several liberal media outlets threw cold water on those claims.
Scalice jumped on Twitter to shutdown Nancy Pelosi and her invalid claims for wanting to push the Union address date.
“What are Democrats afraid of Americans hearing? That 17,000+ criminals were caught last year at the border? 90% of heroin in the US comes across the southern border? Illegal border crossings dropped 90%+ in areas w/ a wall?”
This decision makes clear what we already know: Democrats are only interested in obstructing @realDonaldTrump, not governing.

In Pelosi’s letter to Trump she recommends he push the date of the State of the Union forward “unless government re-opens this week” or “consider delivering your State of the Union address in writing to the Congress.”

The feud between President Trump and the Democrats continue as they refuse to listen to anything the President brings to the table.
This has been the longest government shutdown we’ve had in recent history and there seems to be no end in sight as Democrats continue to stonewall the president, instead of coming up with reasonable solutions.
