President Trump Planned a Meeting With Dems to Discuss Ending Government Shutdown — None of Them Showed up.

The government shutdown is in its 25th day, surpassing the 21-day record, as President Trump works hard to make a deal with democrats to end the government shutdown.

Democrats continue to stonewall the President over border security issues and didn’t even bother to show up when he invited them to a lunch discussion to talk about the “humanitarian and national security crisis” at the border and reopening the government.

President Trump invited both republicans and democrats to the discussion to work out a deal but democrats boycotted the lunch.

Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said President Trump’s proposal includes “additional technology at ports of entry, allows minors from Central America to seek asylum in their home country, and physical barriers between ports of entry made of steel instead of concrete.”

Sanders continued to say that Senator Schumer and Speaker Pelosi both refuse to work on a deal with the President while he works hard to come up with a solution to the humanitarian and security issues at the border.

Sanders listed the 9 Republicans who showed up at the lunch discussion, but there were no democrats to list as none showed up.

“It’s time for the Democrats to come to the table and make a deal,” Sanders added.

Last week Vice President Pence detailed the attitude that democrats are bringing to the table when the President meets with them to discuss a deal on border security.

Kevin McCarthy, House Minority Leader continued, “The president wants to solve this problem. That’s why he continues to bring us down. That’s why he’s put offers on the table.”

“Not once have the Democrats offered anything back. The entire time I’ve been in these meetings, they want to just argue so people can’t present a fact. They want to argue and debate what comes across the southern border. People are hurting,” he continued.
