In 2011, Casey Anthony was famously found not guilty of killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee after a murder trial that shocked the nation.
Casey was ostensibly an ordinary woman with an unremarkable background, a single mother trying to make ends meet for herself and her young daughter, Caylee. But when she went to trial for allegedly murdering her then-two-year-old daughter, it wasn’t long before virtually the entire nation paid close attention to her case and the accusations that were made against her.
The 2011 murder trial and its shocking verdict made national headlines and the case earned Casey now 32, the nickname “the most hated mom in America.” Casey has visited and communicated with both her parents since the trial, but minimally and is these days reportedly not on speaking terms with her father. During the trial, her defense team alleged that George now 67, molested her and helped to cover up Caylee’s death. He denied the accusations.
However, after more than a decade, her estranged father George Anthony is looking to make amends with Casey and is reportedly seeking a reconciliation with his daughter.
On Thursday’s episode of “Dr. Oz,” George talks emotionally about his daughter Casey, following the car accident that nearly ended his life last November. George suffered brain damage from the crash, causing his wife Cindy to be his caretaker, she has said she doesn’t have time for Casey’s “drama” in her life right now as she focuses on the health of her husband.
George revealed parts of a letter that he sent to Casey telling Dr. Oz that “I just want to let her know how I felt. I know of one thing I did say to her: ‘I would love to see you and I would love for mom to know where you’re at, how you’re doing.’”
George said:
“I forgive her, and that’s hard for me to say, but you know what, I need to be forgiven by her, my son and other family members or friends that I care so much about. Forgive me for what I’ve done. To all of our lives.”

On other hand, it seems Casey is also ready to reconcile things with her father. She recently posted a photo of herself and George from the “good old days.” Then during an interview with Daily Mail TV, Casey said: “We can heal from everything. Better to do it together than apart.”
However, according to AWM, Casey was not going to let her father get off scot-free without admitting the horrible things he did.
She added, “(He) has to admit to things before he can heal. . . Until then he is not going to do anything but suffer.”
Casey is trying to move on with her life after a childhood of sexual abuse and the death of her daughter. She told Daily Mail TV that she wants to pose nude in Hustler magazine to jumpstart things.
“Well, you know full well that my nudes will fly off the shelf, even if it is soft p***.”
Hustler originally offered Casey $500,000 in 2011 for her to pose nude for the magazine’s pages. The owner of the magazine, Larry Flint, extended the offer himself. She refused back then but claims the offer is still on the table.
“It was wrong timing. I am in better shape now.”
George refused to speak to his daughter for eight years after her lawyers accused him of sexually assaulting her. But when he rolled his Toyota 4Runner over three times in Daytona Beach, Florida, he saw the light. The near-death experience in November 2018 made George reconsider his relationship with Casey. And in the interview with Dr. Oz, which he did while in a head brace alongside his wife, Casey.
Dr. Oz for one hopes they will reunite despite the allegations against George. “I hope that one day George and Casey can make peace.”
