Breaking: They Just Started…
Conservative Tribune| George Washington may be the face of the American dollar bill, but he might not be welcome anywhere else in the United States… at least if radical leftists get their way.
Just days after historical memorials of Confederate soldiers were pulled down by angry liberals, the mobs have found a new target: American presidents including Washington and Jackson.
A pastor in Chicago has reportedly demanded that the mayor remove the names and statues of famous presidents from parks on the South Side of the city.
According to WBBM News, that demand is based on the claim that the city shouldn’t honor any historic slave owner within black communities — even if the figure was a pivotal figure in American history.
“A bronze statue of George Washington on horseback stands at the corner of 51st and King Drive, at the northwest entrance to Washington Park,” explained the CBS news station.
If Pastor James Dukes gets his wish, it won’t be there for long. On Tuesday evening, he published an open letter to Mayor Rahm Emanuel on Facebook, and made it clear that he sees Washington not as a hero, but as a villain.
“When I see that, I see a person who fought for the liberties, and I see people that fought for the justice and freedom of white America, because at that moment, we were still chattel slavery, and was three-fifths of humans,” Dukes told WBBM.
The pastor then compared Washington to a kidnapper, and implied the Founding Father was a “disgrace.”
“Some people out here ask me, say ‘Well, you know, he taught his slaves to read,’” said Dukes. “That’s almost sad; the equivalent of someone who kidnaps you, that you gave them something to eat.
“In an African-American community, it’s a slap in the face and it’s a disgrace for them to honor someone who was a slave owner,” he continued.
Just yesterday, President Donald Trump predicted that figures such as George Washington would be the next target for crusading liberals — and it looks like he was right.
“So this week it’s Robert E. Lee,” Trump told reporters, as reported by Business Insider. “I notice that Stonewall Jackson’s coming down,” the president continued.
“I wonder: Is it George Washington next week, and is it Thomas Jefferson the week after?” Trump said. “You know, you really do have to ask yourself — where does it stop?”
Reporters mocked the president for that prediction, but Trump didn’t back down.
“Was George Washington a slave owner?” asked Trump. “Yes,” replied a reporter.
“So will George Washington now lose his status?” asked the president. “Are we going to take down… are we going to take down statues [of George Washington]?” Trump asked. “How about Thomas Jefferson?”
“You’re changing history, you’re changing culture,” the president pointed out — a claim that James Dukes’ statement seemed to confirm.. READ MORE
