THIS IS A MODEL THE REST OF THE NATION NEEDS TO FOLLOW.

WE CAN NO LONGER JUST HAND OUT MONEY AND EXPECT IT TO IMPROVE PEOPLE’S LIVES, IT WILL ONLY MAKE THEM LAZY AND DEPENDENT.  I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO SEE JOB TRAINING AS AN OPTION IN THIS PROGRAM … WHAT DO YOU THINK?

| According to the Alabama Department of Human Resources, certain Alabama counties saw an 85 decrease in food stamp recipients after work requirements were put in place on Jan. 1.

This is a huge number and shows all Americans the amount of fraud and abuse our welfare system has and that we can easily do something about it.

We need to take common sense approaches to fixing this bankrupt system that hurts more than just our pocketbook. Because it creeps in and affects people’s idea of work.

As AL.com reports, on Jan. 1, 2017, there were 13,663 able-bodied adults without dependents receiving food stamps statewide. That number dropped to 7,483 by May 1, 2017.

The 13 counties that implemented the work requirement had 5,538 adults ages 18-50 without dependents receiving food stamps as of Jan. 1, 2017.

That number dropped 85% to 831 by May 1, 2017.

“Based on the trend, the number of able-bodied adults without dependents recipients for SNAP benefits is expected to continue to decline statewide and in the formerly 13 exempted counties,” said Alabama DHR spokesperson John Hardy.

Look this obviously works and we need to implement this nationwide immediately. True, the Republicans and the Trump administration want to empower the states to come up with their own fixes to end the abuse and they should.

But when a state program works as good as this one does we should not be afraid to take the good ideas national and ask the Federal Government to mandate these changes in order to keep receiving Federal aid.

Taken as a whole – whether it be food stamp abuse or able-bodied adults gaming the social security disability system (like Jesse Jackson Jr. did) we need to fix the system before we go broke.

Americans are generous but when we see immigrants defrauding welfare and Americans who can make more money not working than working we have reached a point that is unsustainable.

If you can make more money or enough money not working why would anyone work? We are not asking too much to have people work or volunteer in order to get welfare. Because we can see with Alabama, the system is endemic with abuse.

Do you think we should make all welfare recipients work? Share if you agree.

You can’t imagine the shame and humanity that goes with being hungry? Choose which one of the children are going to eat tonight.. The money goes to Walmart,Sams club, Kroger,A & P, Food Lion., Or the Farmers are going to go bankrupt.. With the Farmers bankruptcy the cost of food will sky rocket.Even the middle class will not be able to afford hamburger and send there children to School. Please think it through carefully the toes we step on may our own.
