Trending Views: New York is proposing legislation that will remove the current limitation on abortion that states women can have the procedure up to 24 weeks into their pregnancy.
A new idea being called the “Reproductive Health Act” will allow women a fundamental right to choice between giving birth or having an abortion and they can do it at any time during the pregnancy.
Specifically quoted by Amanda Prestigiacomo of the Daily Wire, it said, “every individual who becomes pregnant has the fundamental right to choose to carry the pregnancy to term, to give birth to a child, or to have an abortion.”
The woman will be eligible for the abortion provided the practitioner is acting in “good faith” and the abortion, up to the time of birth, is required to maintain the woman’s life or health.
Prestigiacomo reported that the therm “health” is not fully defined in the legislation. My opinion is that by not defining the term “health” they are then allowing women to have an abortion up to the time of birth and women may potentially use shady “health” excuses to not have their baby.
