Yet ANOTHER Massive Chicken Farm Has Been Set On Fire…

A major fire at a Minnesota egg farm killed 200,000 chickens over Memorial Day weekend.

The fire broke out at Forsman Farms near Howard Lake late Saturday night, causing extensive damage.

A nearby neighbor described the scene of the fire, “It was insane, It was the whole sky, it was quite large.”

Saturday night was supposed to be spent around the Trebesch family’s bonfire, but it was just after 10 p.m. At Forsman Farms, they observed enormous flames across the field.

They dialed emergency services. Many volunteer firefighters from various departments across Wright County attended. A “tragic accident” leveled a barn housing tens of thousands of chickens, a farm representative said.

According to the Forsman Farms website, the farm was founded in 1918 and today sells more than three million eggs each day to some of the country’s major stores.

A Forsman Farms spokesperson said in a statement:

“Overnight, a fire destroyed one of our barns at our Howard Lake farm. No one was injured and we are grateful that first responders were quickly on scene to put out the fire. Unfortunately, chickens were lost because of the fire. We are evaluating the extent of the damage – which appears to be confined to a single structure – as well as investigating the cause of the fire.”

Eddie Olson of Cokato learned about the fire on his scanner, which he uses frequently during severe weather.

“Fires are scary in general, but when you see something of that scale you know, out of control It was just hard to, you know, to think about the chickens, the company, you know, people that work there. It’s kind of a hard hit because we’re already struggling, you know, with the eggs and the cost of stuff and that takes kind of a bite out of the market.”

The farm is still assessing the extent of the fire’s damage while investigators try to figure out what caused it.

Following the catastrophe in Minnesota, scarcity is unavoidable. This is an all-around terrible story, from the destroyed barn to the deceased hens to the lack of eggs for sale.
