Chad Jones was eagerly awaiting the delivery of his brand-new LG refrigerator worth $4,200 and delighted his family when he said he would spring for the fridge. Well, that’s how you know you’ve reached peak adulthood: you thoroughly enjoy new appliances.

But sadly for Jones, it would be quite a while before he could enjoy his new purchase, as the delivery — which took place on Feb. 18, 2021— went very sour.

Thankfully, Jones had installed a Ring Doorbell and Ring Camera. It reveals that the delivery workers bringing the expensive fridge into the home were totally irresponsible and failed to deliver the product safely, as the footage from the Tallmadge, Ohio home belonging to Jones, took the light of the incident.

A pushcart with the enormous appliance was loaded, and it was pulled up the driveway to the house, as the moment the two delivery men showed up to bring the fridge into the house was caught on camera by the home’s security system.

“I had to unhook my original fridge, get the waterline off and, you know I was getting really excited texting people, ‘Hey, drinks at my house. We have all the ice,’” Jones said. Fortunately, he kept the old fridge, which would quickly prove to be a smart move.

One of the deliverymen started wheeling the appliance toward the house, but he’d made several miscalculations. As he approached the walkway and began to set the dolly down, the fridge, which was not strapped to the dolly, rocked too far and crashed into the driveway.

It was evident right away that the refrigerator was damaged. The other delivery man was so angry that he skipped about and tossed his paperwork down, and the door was hanging off the frame with drawers and shelves all over the driveway.

“Why wouldn’t you wait, bro?” he asked, incredulous.

However, according to Jones, they still tried to complete their delivery, stating that the appliance was “damaged by the manufacturer” but the Ring video told a different tale, and they eventually hauled it away.

Thankfully for them, Jones had a good sense of humor about the whole thing and saw no reason to add insult to injury other than keeping them honest by posting the clip. He shared the video, which has gone viral and offered some words of wisdom.

“As you can see in the video, I mean the, the door completely — it was hanging by one, you know, a thread, and the drawers splattered all over the driveway,”  Jones said.

He continued,Although it was his fault because he didn’t strap, strap the appliance down or wait, wait for his co-worker, you know this guy was already having a bad day, so I just kind of laughed, let it go.

“Everyone’s got a camera somewhere. I would say — you know, I’m not a professional mover, but always use a strap when you’re moving a major appliance and you won’t have these, these situations.”

Here are some comments from viewers online:

“First of all… You should use an appliance dolly for a refrigerator.”

“Thought for a second that he was gonna slip and fridge was gonna fall on him. I’m glad it didn’t.”

“There is a new invention… you may have heard of it.. it is called A STRAP.”

“Ring camera ruined another successful delivery.”

“This is the reason you have two people making the delivery – to avoid things like this!”

“Should have just floored the truck in reverse up the driveway then slam the brakes, the fridge would fly out and probably be in better shape.”

“I’ve been in the moving industry for five years now. Not only have they used the wrong equipment, but they should also have been working together on a large appliance.”

“(At the 21-second mark), the other guy that isn’t pulling the refrigerator is me when my mom brings home food, but I don’t want to seem too excited.”

“This is okay. At least the fridge didn’t crush the man. That item can be replaced.”
