The Chicago Police Has Turned Its Back On The Chicago Mayor!

A group of Chicago police officers turned their back on Mayor Lori Lightfoot when she visited their wounded colleagues at the hospital Saturday night, reflecting the high emotions around policing in the city after two officers were shot on the South Side.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported Monday morning, Chicago Police Officer Ella French, 29, was shot and killed during a traffic stop Saturday night, while her partner fights for his life at the University of Chicago Medical Center and outside the Medical Center hundreds of fellow officers gathered in a stunning display of sympathy for their injured “brother” and murdered “sister,” that only hours before who had been ambushed.

As Lightfoot visited the hospital about midnight Saturday, about 30 officers turned their backs to her when she approached them on the 7th floor.

The incident was explained by Chicago’s Fraternal Order of Police President John Catanzara to the Chicago Sun-Times:

“The police officers’ decision to turn their backs on the mayor while waiting with the family on the 7th floor was significant. Turning their backs on the mayor was an excellent example of how the hundreds of police officers felt waiting outside the hospital.”

“They have had enough and aren’t going to remain silent anymore.”

The male officer’s father, who is a retired Chicago cop, also gave the mayor an earful when she tried to talk to him, sources told the Sun-Times. She reportedly remained calm and attentive while he blamed her for what happened.

The mayor’s press office provided a statement to Fox News.

The statement read, “The Mayor spoke to a range of officers that tragic night and sensed the overwhelming sentiment was about concern for their fallen colleagues, as the Mayor stated yesterday, now is not the time for divisive and toxic rhetoric or reporting. This is a time for us to come together as a city. We have a common enemy and it is the conditions that breed the violence and the manifestations of violence, namely illegal guns, and gangs. The Mayor is focused on healing the wounds and will reject any and all that try to use this moment to drive further divisions in our city.”

But nobody here would buy her excuses anymore, People had enough.

The officers who were ambushed were just two of 86 people who were shot over another bloody weekend in Chicago. French was one of 13 who fell victim to their wounds and passed away.

Despite her anti-police policy and rhetoric that encourages this surge in violent crime, the egomaniac mayor said her chilly reception at the hospital was “to be expected” and blamed it on “emotions running high” in a statement that her office released on Monday. She also doubled down on blaming “guns” for bringing violence to the streets.

What about the criminals pulling the trigger?

She is completely delusional. Chicago would be so much better off with someone competent running the city.
