A known sexual offender abducted a woman at knifepoint after picking her up at a petrol station, took her to his house, and raped her there. He was then transported to the hospital shortly after but immediately realized that he had chosen the wrong woman to rape.
A South Carolina woman agreed to meet Dennis Slaton at a gas station in Greenville after communicating with him online. Unaware that everything was a part of his cruel scheme. The woman introduced herself and got into the driver’s seat of the man’s truck because she thought it would be safest to meet her new acquaintance in a public place.
Later then the woman offered Slaton $5 and asked him to gently drop her off at a nearby area after feeling that “something did not seem right” as the two drove off. But Slaton made a mistake and brandished a knife while holding it in close proximity to her throat at that point.
They then arrived at Slaton’s residence in a matter of minutes; Slaton who was a registered sex offender with nefarious plans dragged the woman inside her house and raped her sexually. However, his female victim decided to fight back just before he could finish.
In a complaint from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, the woman allegedly “severed” Slaton’s penis by chewing it off before taking control of his knife and stabbing her rapist. Then, as her attacker writhed in agony from his severe wounds, the woman was able to flee.
“He’s done been caught that many times, he don’t need it. Very concerned…especially when he’s only four houses down,” said Jeron Lynch, who lives down the street from Slaton.
Reports said that the woman fled out the door and across the street to the house of the closest neighbor while still naked and covered in her rapist’s blood. Despite refusing to let her inside, the neighbor swiftly called the police to report an emergency.
“I didn’t open the door because you never know what’s going on with that kind of stuff, we need to call the police,” the neighbor, Jacqueline Fair, said.
Fearing that her attacker could soon catch up to her, the woman, understandably, refused to wait. She sprinted to a Waffle House less than a mile away for help, as a result. The gruesome scene inside Slaton’s house was quickly discovered by police, who then took Slaton to the hospital and guided his victim to safety. Due to the severity of his wounds, Slaton was in intensive care for more than a month.
Despite his extensive criminal history, which includes convictions for sodomy, attempted rape, and voyeurism, he denies all charges brought against him. Slaton’s had the police called on him at least eight times in the last four years, according to his neighbors.
“It’s usually like five or ten people, and they always have their guns drawn. If there’s been people over here with guns drawn they way they have, why has he not still in jail right now?” said neighbor Natasha Manuel.
Slaton has been accused of sexual assault and kidnapping. He posted a $75,000 bond a week after being released from the hospital and subsequently detained.
Whether or not doctors were able to completely heal his genitalia, Slaton has remained silent regarding that matter, many others concur, though, that the registered sex offender doesn’t deserve to have them in the first place.
Slaton will probably reconsider abusing women in the future, assuming he is even still capable of doing so. Hopefully, his recent experience has taught him that using his body as a weapon could cause him to be disarmed by the wrong person.
