This one gets a little weird…

A Nevada woman was arrested for breaking into a dental office for stealing cash and pulling out more than a dozen teeth from an unwitting patient, police said.

According to Washoe County police, a 42-year-old US woman broke into a dentist’s office, stole money, and pulled 13 teeth from an unconscious patient on two separate occasions.

Laurel Eich, who is not a dentist, broke into a dental office where she claimed to have worked earlier, said the police.

Here’s what the reports said,

“ON MAY 3, 2021 PATROL DEPUTIES RESPONDED TO AN AFTER-HOURS ALARM CALL AT A DENTAL OFFICE ON SUN VALLEY BOULEVARD. DEPUTIES FOUND A DOOR AJAR, AND A BACK WINDOW BROKEN. AFTER THE BUSINESS WAS CLEARED BY K9 DEPUTIES, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT ONLY A CASH DRAWER WAS DISTURBED. A TOTAL $22,861 WAS STOLEN IN CASH AND CHECKS.”

Nope, this isn’t a typical burglary… It’s about to get worse…

“IN A BEWILDERING TWIST, EICH ALSO APPARENTLY ADMITTED TO EXTRACTING 13 TEETH FROM AN UNWILLING AND ANESTHETIZED PATIENT ON AN EARLIER DATE.”

Wait… WHAT!?!? That’s Not Just Your Typical Weird

The report from the Sheriff’s department continued, “During the investigation, detectives also learned that Eich performed 13 tooth extractions at an earlier date and time on one person. Eich admitted to multiple people, including detectives, that she performed the medical procedure and used anesthetic disposed of by the dental office.”

So she was stealing meds from the dentist’s office and posing as a dentist on the side right? Fair enough.

But we still haven’t gotten to the WHY?!?! The Teeth?!?! WHY?!?!

There are pieces of this story spread out everywhere, it’s a bit of a puzzle to put them together. The Daily Mail reported, “The sheriff’s office said she did the teeth extractions ‘on her own time’ but did not elaborate on the incident or the ‘patient’ involved.”

So we have no indication yet as to who this woman’s patient(?)/victim was or why she had to perform 13 extractions on a single person. But when one considers what the use of meth does to one’s mouth…

Laurel Eich has been charged with a veritable laundry list of offenses and is being held on a $20,000 bond. She’s looking at: two counts of burglary, one count each of grand larceny, conspiracy to commit burglary, perform surgery on another without a license, and three counts of violation of probation or condition of a suspended sentence. So wait, she had a suspended sentence or parole? So we have a criminal history then… it’s starting to come together…
