Danielle Thrasher and her partner Joseph had been trying for a child for years but had failed month after month. And after two long and emotional years of trying, they finally got their wish.
In March 2017, the couple learned they were expecting a child. Thrasher was nearing the end of her pregnancy and was ready to have her family grow by two. When Thrasher went to the doctor’s office for an ultrasound, she wanted Joseph to be there with her.
Danielle found out she was actually having twins six weeks into the pregnancy. They weren’t completely stunned, but they were pleasantly delighted. Both Danielle and Joseph’s families, as well as Danielle’s brothers, had twins.
One week later, the doctor asked to see Danielle again for another checkup. But after going through the ultrasound again, Danielle and Joseph were even more surprised to learn she was actually pregnant … with triplets!
“We were in shock and excited all at once,” Danielle said. “How were we ever going to be able to raise three precious babies God has blessed us with?”
“After a couple of weeks of praying and praying, we were finally able to feel confident and ready to tackle this amazing journey God had started for us. The doctor told us to keep the triplets quiet for now to make sure things worked out OK. We followed the doctor’s orders and just announced that we were expecting. Everything seemed to be going well.”
Thrasher’s belly continued to grow every day, which was a sign that she was supporting the growth of her unborn triplets; she did everything she was supposed to do and followed the doctor’s orders.
She and Joseph were working very hard to ensure that Danielle was happy and healthy, so the babies inside of her could come out very strong. Then after three months of doctor’s visits, she went through the same routine ultrasound. But this time, the ultrasound technician looked more confused than ever.
Concerned, Danielle asked her what was wrong.
“I hate to tell you this, but … “
They didn’t anticipate that they grow their family faster than they ever expected. It was a miracle. As Danielle was not carrying triplets after all she had four babies within her uterus. She was carrying quadruplets!
Clearly, it is very difficult to get pregnant with so many little angels that Danielle and Joseph knew that they were one hundred percent blessed. As experts claim that the chances of a woman getting pregnant with quadruplets without fertility treatments or interventions are between one and 500,000 to one and 700,000.
Fortunately, the entire family is healthy and happy. Thrasher gave birth to four baby girls, all under three pounds, at Community Hospital North on Aug. 17, 2017.
