Vice President Kamala Harris is said to be ignoring Senator Elizabeth Warren’s phone calls after the Massachusetts Democrat hesitated to endorse Harris as President Joe Biden’s vice president for 2024.

According to CNN, Warren called Harris twice to apologize for her comments, but the vice president has yet to return her calls. During a Boston Public Radio interview in January, Warren seemed reluctant to endorse Harris as Biden’s 2024 running mate, stating, “I really want to defer to what makes Biden comfortable on his team.”

In a January interview with Boston Public Radio, when asked whether Harris should be Biden’s running mate if he runs for re-election in 2024, Warren responded, “I really want to defer to what makes Biden comfortable on his team.” She then tried to clarify her comments, saying she fully supports a Biden-Harris 2024 ticket and never intended to imply otherwise.

However, many Democrats have lost hope in Vice President Kamala Harris, with some even admitting to the media that she is a liability for the 2024 presidential election. The New York Times reported that Harris is struggling to define her vice presidency, and even her allies are becoming tired of waiting. The article goes on to say that some Democrats, including those who helped put her on the 2020 ticket, privately confessed that they’ve lost hope in her.

Democratic fundraiser John Morgan went on the record against Harris, claiming her weakness as vice president would be a significant argument against Biden. He added that he couldn’t think of any accomplishments she had made during her tenure other than standing beside the president at certain ceremonies.

Political pundit and conservative commentator Mike Miller argued in a piece for Red State that the unpopular vice president could be replaced, though Biden would likely face accusations of misogyny and racism even if Harris was replaced by another black woman. Miller suggested that Harris’s lack of discernable skills, poor speech-making, and general unpopularity could hinder the president, especially given his age, which would be 82 in 2024.

Even some Democrats within her own party have doubts about Harris’s ability to attract voters. The Washington Post reported that top Democrats are concerned about the vice president’s political prospects, describing her tenure as underwhelming and marked by struggles as a communicator.

Harris’s lack of visibility has left many Democrats unpersuaded that she has the charisma and skill to mount a winning presidential campaign.
