One Los Angeles sheriff has been removed the power and authority to enforce COVID vaccine mandates. This is after he refused to require his staff to get vaccinated.
Well, what we can expect? In this day and age, once you follow what you think is right and good you will look upon as doing the wrong thing.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has voted to relieved Sheriff Alex Villanueva from his enforcement powers last week due to Villanueva’s refusal to mandate vaccine to his staff that could result in the loss of more than 4,000 employees, he claims and also said that the board’s decision is purely political.
“This is nothing more than another politically motivated stunt by the Board, which has no bearing on public health, but will definitely harm public safety,” Villanueva said.
Sheriff Villanueva is pretty much the only public official in LA County who knows what he’s doing. Stay strong Sheriff V!! https://t.co/eqbKqWAEIx

Here’s an excerpt from the Insider report:
Lawmakers in Los Angeles earlier this week voted to strip a sheriff who refused to mandate COVID-19 vaccines for his staff of his enforcement power.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors decided on Tuesday to relieve Sheriff Alex Villanueva of the responsibility to enforce COVID-19 vaccine mandates, according to board documents viewed by Insider. The Los Angeles Times first reported the story.
The decision to strip him of the responsibility comes after Villanueva has for months refused to enforce the mandate.
In October, Villanueva said he would not enforce the mandate because he feared losing a chunk of his staff.

To LA County law enforcement officers facing potential firing:

Fox News also reported Sheriff Villanueva’s reaction to the county board’s decision:
Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva blasted the county’s board of supervisors on Twitter late Tuesday after they voted in favor of a motion that could result in the termination of more than 4,000 employees over their COVID-19 vaccine status.
Villanueva criticized the vote and pointed out that murders in the jurisdiction jumped 94%. He also pointed out that there has been a hiring freeze.
“This is nothing more than another politically motivated stunt by the Board, which has no bearing on public health, but will definitely harm public safety,” he said.
