He Entered A Home With A Gun, He Didn’t Think The Owner Would Put Up A Fight…

This hoodlum entered this man’s house with a gun no less, and he didn’t think that he was going to put up a fight, but he was so, so wrong.

Kevin Mitchell Gonzales learned the hard way that the phrase “don’t mess with Texas” is definitely not a hollow one. This 28-year-old Hispanic male attempted to enter a Longview home and he was almost immediately thwarted by the homeowner. A struggle ensued with Gonzales pulling a gun on the homeowner, but it still didn’t work out in his favor.

Gonzales allegedly entered the home in the 800 block of Spring Street though the garage late on a Monday night. However, the unnamed homeowner found Gonzales in his garage attempting to enter his home, and that is when a violent struggle began. Gonzales pulled out a 45 caliber pistol during the fight, according to CBS 19.

Even though he was the person with a gun, he ended up getting a brutal beating, and police were dispatched to the home just before 11 p.m. in regards to an unknown problem. They quickly found the homeowner uninjured but the same couldn’t be said for Kevin Mitchell Gonzales, who took a brutal beating after he pulled his gun on the wrong person and got hit several times in the face.

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, and all you have to do is take one look at Gonzales’ mugshot and you realize that this person almost instantly regretted his decision. Oh well, at least he has that slow county jail medical care.

When officers arrived, the intended victim told police he found the Hispanic male, later identified as Gonzales, in his home without permission, but he explained that the fight ensued after Gonzales fired his pistol. The victim said he was able to get that gun away from Gonzales and held the hoodlum down until the police arrived.

In addition to the injuries that Gonzales acquired, that garage showed evidence of the violent struggle that the homeowner and the criminal were engaged in. Gonzales allegedly crashed into a wall during the scuffle.

While Gonzales might have taken quite the beating, the homeowner himself wasn’t injured at all. Again, don’t mess with Texas!

After Gonzales was arrested, Longview officers discovered 18 Lorazepam pills in a clear plastic bag in his pants pocket, resulting in an additional charge.

They charged Gonzales with criminal trespass with a deadly weapon and possession of a controlled substance and they transported him to Gregg County Jail without incident.

Records are showing that this is the fifth time Kevin Mitchell Gonzales has been booked into the Gregg County Jail. After the beating this individual took, hopefully, this will be a wake-up call to him that it is time for him to change his ways.

This homeowner is one very lucky individual indeed, simply because this could have had an entirely different ending for him. The sad truth continues to be that most people’s fits cannot compare to a firearm. That is why police will never recommend wrestling a firearm away from an armed assailant.

Either way, in this case the homeowner lucked out and Gonzales got exactly what he deserved. So much for entering this guy’s house with a gun!
