Other than Joe Biden, who tried for more than 32 years to become president of the United States before finally achieving his goal, Stacey Abrams, a less qualified political candidate in America desperately wants to become the next governor of Georgia.
Abrams, who lost the 2018 race for governor to Republican Brian Kemp, not only refused to accept defeat; she also insists that she won. Now, in her desperate plea, on Thursday Abram would push for a pay raise for the base salaries of law enforcement officers if she wins the election.
Abrams shared the news on Twitter and linked to a page on her website that described her platform. Her remarks followed the release of an advertisement by her opponent in the November election, Republican Governor Brian Kemp, in which it was implied that Abrams supported the “defund the police” movement.
In response, Abrams released a new plan to give cops a raise.
Law enforcement are often paid less than a living wage, and that is wrong.
We must raise pay for officers and address violent crime as we work to build community trust and foster law enforcement accountability.

She’s arguing that “[h]igher officer pay will lead to better officer recruitment, better officer retention, better community interactions and a safer Georgia.”
Law enforcement in urban, suburban and rural areas across Georgia struggle with staffing shortages that put communities at risk.
Higher officer pay will lead to better officer recruitment, better officer retention, better community interactions and a safer Georgia.

By making smart choices with our budget and enacting smart policy, we can build One Georgia with safe, thriving communities, and we can do so without raising taxes.

Abrams had the opportunity to condemn “defund the police,” but she chose to distort it instead during the Summer of 2020:
“We are being drawn into a false choice idea,” Abrams says when asked about a movement to defund the police.
“We need reformation of how police officers do their jobs,” and ” a transformation of how we view the world of law enforcement,” she adds.

And even after the 2020 election, when Democrats did not make the gains they anticipated, she steadfastly failed to condemn the talk about “defunding the police.”
Now she wants to give cops a raise, Abrams appears to have changed her tune “Coincidentally,” on the very next day after Kemp’s campaign ad was released. Well, that’s what desperate people do.
