ALERT: Mass Shooting In Washington DC, Several People Injured!

On Friday, at least four people have been shot and severely wounded after a suspect opened fire in Washington D.C. near a college prep school.

Metropolitan Police Department Assistant Chief Stuart Emerman said in a press briefing about the shooting near the Edmund Burke School. 

“At approximately 3:20 this afternoon, members of the Metropolitan Police Department responded to the area of Connecticut Ave and Van Ness St NW for reported sounds of gunshots.” 

MPD added:

“There are 4 total victims in this shooting incident. 2 adult females, 1 adult male, and a juvenile (12 year-old) female. The additional adult female victim is in her 60s and suffered a graze wound to the back.”

One of the victims was found outside the school, which was put on lockdown. All students have been reunited with their parents, police said.

“Police and federal agents swarmed into a northwest Washington neighborhood on Friday after at least three people were shot in a flurry of gunfire. City officials warned people to stay inside because of an “active threat” as dozens of officers in tactical gear searched for the suspect.

The law enforcement officers responded to the scene near Connecticut Avenue and Van Ness St. in the Van Ness neighborhood of Washington shortly before 3:30 p.m. The incident is just down the road from Howard University Law School.

police in tactical gear were seen escorting people out of an apartment building. Officers pointed their rifles upward toward other buildings and windows as the people moved quickly down the street with their hands raised above their heads.

Emerman said police were also aware of a video posted online that may be connected to the shooting, though he cautioned that investigators hadn’t yet authenticated the video. Police were questioning witnesses at the scene and were still trying to discern a motive for the shooting, he said.”

Now-viral videos have surfaced online related to the incident, the videos were allegedly filmed by the shooter himself.  However, as of the moment, we cannot confirm the authenticity of the videos.
