Build Back Better, Joe Biden’s initiative, isn’t going as intended… or is it?
In yet another blow to the US food market, George’s Inc.: Poultry and Prepared Foods one of the top ten chicken producers in the US with vertical integration, providing a wide range of high-quality poultry products, stated that it will close one of its factories in Campbell County, Tennessee.
Even the locals were taken aback by the swift decision; the closure’s cause has not yet been made public.

The announcement comes after Smithfields, one of the biggest pig processors in the world, recently announced that it was closing down its Vernon, California, factory, scaling back operations in other states, and decreasing its sow herd.
E.L. Morton, the mayor of Campbell County, told WVLT-TV that he is making every effort to keep the factory operating.
“I have contacted the Tennessee Economic and Community Development staff to request assistance in keeping the plant open or facilitating a sale to another operator,” Morton said.
According to Western Journal, the plant’s shutdown would put the livelihoods of close to 200 firm employees in jeopardy at a time when inflation is at an all-time high and prices are skyrocketing.
“I have requested Governor Lee’s assistance as well. My primary concern is for the welfare of the dedicated workers who have been the backbone of this operation. Our prayers go out to them as well as our very best efforts to keep them employed in Campbell County,” Morton added.
George’s Inc. is a chicken processing business with facilities in Tennessee, Virginia, Arkansas, and Missouri. In Springdale, Arkansas, are the corporate offices.
On another side of the story, after more than 2,500 chickens were discovered dead on the factory premises, the Northern Virginia Daily reported that the Department of Agriculture determined that George’s Inc. plant in Edinburg, Virginia was not in compliance with federal rules.
“A majority of the dead chickens had been left in trailers overnight on May 6, 2020, at the George’s Inc. plant in Edinburg, according to the reports. Some of the dead chickens were on trailers that arrived at the plant the morning of May 7, the reports state,” the news outlet reported.
