MASSIVE Outbreak Of Deadly Illness Found In Ten States…

On Thursday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said a mysterious listeria outbreak has led to 23 reported illnesses, 22 hospitalizations, and one death across 10 states.

People in 10 different states have become ill from the outbreak, including Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.

These cases occurred between Jan. 24, 2021, and June 12, 2022, with 16 of the 23 cases occurring this year, the agency reported.

In a notice posted Thursday, the CDC said 20 of the infected people either live in or traveled to Florida within a month of their diagnosis. The disease is dangerous for those with compromised immune systems, adults aged 65 or older, and pregnant women.

According to the agency, the investigation is ongoing and the cause of the outbreak is not yet known.

All but one of the people infected have been hospitalized, and one individual from Illinois has died of the illness. Of those infected, five people were pregnant at the time and one of them had a miscarriage.

“If you are at higher risk for Listeria infection and have symptoms, especially if you recently traveled to Florida, talk to your healthcare provider. Healthcare providers should report listeriosis illnesses to their health department. This information may help investigators solve this outbreak.”

Here are the symptoms of listeria as mentioned on the CDC website:

• Pregnant people typically experience only fever, fatigue, and muscle aches. However, Listeria infections during pregnancy can lead to miscarriage, stillbirth, premature delivery, or life-threatening infection of the newborn.
• People who are not pregnant may experience headaches, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions, in addition to fever and muscle aches.

Fox News dropped some details of this mysterious listeria outbreak:

Listeria, a foodborne illness, is usually caused by contaminated dairy, produce, deli meats, or smoked fish.

Symptoms, which include fever, fatigue, and muscle aches, typically start within one to four weeks of eating food contaminated with listeria.

In the current outbreak, 22 people have been hospitalized and one person has died. Five of those who got infected were pregnant at the time, with one person reporting the loss of the fetus.

The true number of illnesses is likely much higher, according to the CDC, as some people recover before seeking medical attention.

Health officials are still trying to identify the food that is the source of this outbreak.

Aside from listeria, CDC is also investigating another outbreak in Florida among homosexuals.

TGP previously reported that the CDC announced last week that the agency continued collaborating with the Florida Department of Health to investigate a rare disease outbreak among gay and bisexual men.

In a press release, the CDC said they are assisting with the meningococcal disease outbreak investigation in Florida that spread among homosexual males, including those with HIV.

So far, at least 24 cases and 7 deaths among homosexuals have recently been reported.

Listeria infection is caused by a germ called Listeria monocytogenes, and people often get sick within two weeks of eating food contaminated with the bacteria. For this outbreak, it is unclear whether there is a specific food item that is linked to these cases.
