Earlier this week, President Joe Biden made waves by referring to the millions of Americans who support Donald Trump as “garbage.” Sure, the White House scrambled to smooth things over, claiming this wasn’t what Biden meant—but let’s be real, the damage was done.
To many, it felt like Biden just accidentally revealed what Democrats have been thinking all along about Trump supporters. After all, millions of Trump voters know firsthand how the left often views them—as worthless, inconvenient trash to be ignored or ridiculed.
Then, just to drive the point home, Joy Behar on The View reminded America just how deep this disdain runs. On Tuesday’s show, Behar, 82, upped the ante, declaring that if she were choking, she wouldn’t even let a Trump voter save her by performing the Heimlich maneuver.
According to Decider, the comment came during a Hot Topic segment, where the panel discussed a story about a woman who walked out on a date upon discovering her partner was a Trump supporter. “I wouldn’t even let him give me the Heimlich maneuver,” Behar quipped, adding, “That’s how little I feel about people. I don’t—no.”
You can’t make this up. Behar’s remark shows just how unhinged this Trump derangement syndrome has become. Think about it—a person would choose potential death over allowing a fellow American, a simple Trump voter, to lend a hand. Only someone as off-the-rails as Behar could make this sound remotely reasonable.
Behar didn’t stop there, either. She doubled down, explaining why she “could never” date someone who holds different political views. In her words, “People who believe that stuff, they’re just disregarding everything that [Trump] has said and done—trashing servicemen, trashing John McCain, speaking ill of women, being held liable for sexual assault. It means you are in agreement with that. How can I be in a relationship with you? I cannot.”
Something tells me Trump supporters, or anyone with a shred of common sense, aren’t exactly lining up to date Joy Behar.
Meanwhile, Democrats love to claim that Trump is the one dividing this country with his words. But as Behar’s bizarre rant shows, it’s liberals who are more than happy to fuel the flames of division with hate-filled rhetoric aimed at millions of fellow Americans.
Sadly, this hostility toward Trump supporters is nothing new. Back in 2016, Hillary Clinton infamously called Trump voters “deplorables,” a moment many believe played a big part in her election loss. Yet, here we are, eight years later, with Democrats still preaching the same “tolerant” message that somehow always translates into open contempt for conservatives.
Democrats love to sell themselves as the party that stands against hate. But in practice, their vitriol toward anyone who dares think differently says it all. In the end, it’s astonishing how hypocritical the left can be—and it never fails to amaze.
