Parents begged cops to “protect the kids!” in heartbreaking videos captured on video. During the Texas school shooting, some people suggested that they “just rush” the school.
Parents rushed to Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, where deranged gunman Salvador Ramos, 18, was inside for up to an hour killing 19 children and two teachers, according to live-streamed footage.
Officials also are analyzing ballistics to learn who fired and when. Sources say these types of reviews are standard after major incidents but are intensified in this case because of discrepancies in statements and gravity of the matter. Uvalde’s chief could not be reached. (2/3)

As the gunman is inside the school, murdering fourth-graders, law enforcement creates a human barricade as family members wail, scream, and hurl profanities. Officials from the state said Thursday that officers had come under fire and had to retreat, but the delay was too long.
“You know that they are kids right?” one angry man yelled at officers in one clip obtained by the Washington Post.
They’re little kids, they don’t know how to defend themselves… 6-year-old kids in there, and they don’t know how to defend themselves from a shooter!”
“We’re parents! Take him the f—k out!” begged a mother to an officer, after the cop shoved a frustrated parent and tells the gathered crowd to back up.
Earlier in the same video, a frustrated dad declares “all the parents are gonna go in,” while the same woman yells “f—k that, like our kids are there” as cops tell them to take cover.
“What are you doing — get inside the building!” a person howled in a separate video, as another screamed, “Go protect the kids!”
One of the disturbing videos, which had been viewed nearly 2 million times by Thursday, shows a group of parents attempting to get past police lines. An officer appeared to pin one woman to the ground, while an onlooker screamed, “What the f–k are you doing to her? Let her go!”
One of the distraught parents at the scene was Javier Cazares, whose daughter, Jacklyn Cazares, was one of the 19 children killed in her fourth-grade classroom. He slammed cops for being “unprepared.”
He recalled hearing gunfire and suggesting to others at the scene, “Let’s just rush in because the cops aren’t doing anything like they are supposed to.”
He also told the Washington Post, “We didn’t care about us. We wanted to storm the building. We were saying, ‘Let’s go’ because that is how worried we were, and we wanted to get our babies out.”

This is stunningly reminiscent of the Parkland, Florida, school shooting in 2018, in which law enforcement also demonstrated a stunning lack of expediency or efficacy when confronted with an active shooter at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. When the Broward County Sheriff’s Department received the 911 call, members of law enforcement simply did not act quickly.
