Now that we’re hitting one of the hottest parts of summer 2022 and that you had to strip down butt naked, but you still feel like you’re going to pass out from the heat?

Well, get over it.

And if you’re using Aircon? You’re just being selfish according to CNN.

You may have noticed that the recent heat wave was among the warmest of this Summer. People all throughout the world have had a difficult week, especially gingers and those without air conditioning.

And while people were suffering from the heat, one CNN opinion writer thought this was an excellent opportunity to shame us all.

A piece titled “A very European answer to air conditioning was published by Paul Hockenos, a writer with a base in Berlin who specializes in European renewable energy.

The sanctimonious author begins by griping about his American pals visiting his dirty plastic fan-equipped apartment in central Berlin.

Inevitably, they go on to moan about the stuffy, sweaty restaurants and night clubs that go without air conditioning as if it had never been invented.”

We should acknowledge the fact that Europeans frequently despise Americans. He also dials AC saying, “yet another luxury item of an everything-all-the-time population that insisted on a constant temperature year-round — and gave no thought to its environmental implications.”

“For their part, Europeans had, until recently, done their own grousing about Americans’ infatuation with AC: so wasteful in its high energy usage, unhealthy with the frosty temperatures in mid-summer and annoying given the incessant buzz of the window units!”

According to The Daily Wire, Britain was hit especially hard by the heat wave where temperatures hit 100 degrees for several days in a row. But the problem is, only about 5% of people in the U.K. have A.C. Similarly, only 20% of European homes have what Hockenos calls “America’s luxurious eyesore” (aka A.C.). Compare that to the U.S., where about 90% of homes have A.C.

Hockenos also criticizes refrigerators and other cooling equipment for their role in the production of greenhouse gas emissions.

His ranting obviously leads the reader to one conclusion: wind, solar, hydroelectric.

“Americans could learn a thing or two from the rest of the world when it comes to habits — since the vicious circle is nowhere more damning in those countries with the most units: China, U.S., and Japan. It is self-indulgent to insist on chilly temperatures in the middle of Summer and rooms at T-shirt warmth in winter. The donning of sweaters indoors when it’s” cold outside, not because the A.C. is cranked up so high, is surely a habit one can adapt to,” Hockenos wrote.

Change your ways, and don’t be selfish…as what woke CNN author says.
