Opinion| For those of us who have supported President Trump for years now, we are used to seeing the media apply an absurd double standard to Team Trump and, well … anyone else.
Trump fans have long wondered why it is that, if the President, or one of his supporters for that matter, even so much as pass gas they are crucified in the press, whereas people like Obama, Clinton, Clapper, Brennan and company have escaped mere scrutiny of thier misdeeds nearly Scot-Free.
A great example of this double standard was on display this week when Roger Stone was the victim of a predawn raid by 29 FBI agents wielding fully automatic assault weapons, ready to do battle with the elder associate of the President, his wife and their dogs.
According to Western Journal: “Following the raid Stone was indicted Friday morning on five counts of lying to Congress, one count of witness tampering and one count of obstruction of a government proceeding.
Saturday, Trump tweeted : “If Roger Stone was indicted for lying to Congress, what about the lying done by Comey, Brennan, Clapper, Lisa Page & lover, Baker and soooo many others? What about Hillary to FBI and her 33,000 deleted Emails? What about Lisa & Peter’s deleted texts & Wiener’s laptop? Much more!”

Western Journal went on to recap:
“Trump accused Hillary Clinton of lying to the FBI in his Saturday tweet over the tens of thousands of emails deleted from the private server she used while U.S. secretary of state.
The FBI looked into Clinton’s handling of classified information on a private server, and it was a sticking point in the 2016 presidential election.
The Daily Caller News Foundation reported on Jan. 12, “Clinton was interviewed by the FBI as part of the investigation on July 2, 2016, three days before then-FBI Director James Comey announced he would be recommending that Clinton be charged in the case.”
The FBI concluded that Clinton had been “extremely careless” in using a private email server, language that rebuked the former secretary of state but did not carry legal weight.
Ex-FBI Director James Comey, also mentioned in Trump’s Saturday tweet, had considered Clinton’s handling classified information on her private email account to be “grossly negligent” according to a 2016 memo draft, but the language was later softened.
Gross negligence in the handling of classified information can result in jail time.”
Those of us who have been following FISA-Gate have been shocked at what Obama’s FBI and DOJ have so far been able to get away with. Many of us believe that if Trump is going to survive this “Deep State coup” he needs to declassify the documents relevant to FISA-Gate and demand that the Justice Department hold anyone who committed crimes in order to “spy” on his campaign accountable.
What do you think Trump needs to do in order to keep his promise of “draining the swamp”?
