Opinion| Dr. Judith Reisman is a former principal investigator for the U.S. Department of Justice with specific expertise in the prevention of child sexual abuse. Dr. Reisman has published an op-ed excoriating Democrats for opposing the wall.
Why does the Democratic Party leadership refuse to build the wall they know will discourage illegal penetration of our country?
Are they indifferent to the tragic reality of human trafficking? The U.S. State Department estimates that 14,500 to 17,500, or in some cases as many as 19,000, foreign nationals are trafficked into the United States each year.
By July 2018, the AMBER Alert Training and Technical Assistance Program disclosed, “Sex trafficking in and out of the United States has historically been big business. The trafficking of persons across the U.S. border for prostitution is estimated to be the third most significant source of revenue for organized crime syndicates, following the sale of drugs and firearms. All of this profit potential has proven to be a powerful motivator for both organized crime and small independent organizations alike to engage in the sex trafficking of persons.”
So, why stop the wall – whose absence makes it easier for mobsters to prostitute girls and boys?
“The U.S. Department of State (2005) estimated that 70 percent of all sex trafficked persons are trafficked from Mexico to the U.S., 50 percent of which are minors who are trafficked for prostitution.”
Why, then, are the Democrats so adamantly against border security? And why did mainstream press hide the Jan. 9, 2019, news when President Trump signed into law the Frederick Douglass Act, authorizing $430 million to combat human trafficking? Why did the party leaders and their MSM comrades suppress public knowledge of legislation named for one of their heroes, aimed at crippling the traffic in women and children?
Interesting questions indeed especially in light of the way the same Trump enemies unfairly and inaccurately roasted him for the treatment of detained minors and the unfortunate deaths of two other minors who didn’t arrived in such weakened conditions after their trek across Mexico that they couldn’t be saved.
In fact, Trump has been the most proactive president in our nation’s history when it comes to fighting this scourge.
Only a month into his presidency, President Trump announced a White House initiative to advance legislation that would finally address the trafficking of children and women.
That was in February of 2017. The mainstream media ignored it as did then-Speaker Paul Ryan. At that time, we predicted it would be a winner for the new president.
Perhaps that was the reason it died in Congress, or perhaps it’s something that goes to the very core of who the elected officials opposing Donald Trump really are.
Even without the needed legislation, Trump stepped up enforcement with the tools he did have and the results have been impressive if not what they could’ve been:
Reisman:
Under Trump’s helm, 9,200 individuals were arrested on suspicion of human trafficking in 18 months. Under Obama, 1,238 were arrested for trafficking during his first two years. During eight years in office, Obama’s administration made only 42 more arrests for human trafficking than Trump’s administration made in his first 18 months! How many precious lives were saved by those 9,200 arrests!
Just prior to Christmas 2017, President Trump signed an Executive Order that received very little fanfare.
Named the Executive Order Blocking the Property of Persons Involved in Serious Human Rights Abuse or Corruption it relied on already established laws (the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1701 et seq.) (IEEPA), the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.) (NEA), the Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act (Public Law 114-328) (the “Act”), section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 (8 U.S.C. 1182(f)) (INA), and section 301 of title 3, United States Code).
Trump used it to empower the Secretary of the Treasure, in consultation with the Secretary of State, to confiscate the U.S. assets of anyone materially assisting, sponsoring, or providing financial, material, or technological support to those engaged in human rights abuses and/or corruption.
In the article we wrote introducing the EO, we outlined the Democrats involvement in, and the sycophantic propaganda media’s cover up of, major political figures pedophilia.
Specifically we cited Hillary Clinton’s State Department cover up.
We don’t believe this is limited to members of a single party but Democrats have taken the lead on protecting the sick predatory practice as well as protecting those who are involved in fulfilling the orders for it.
Reisman writes that Trump has again moved to strengthen the hand of those combatting this perversion.
President Trump’s commitment to fighting human trafficking is apparent in his “Presidential Proclamation on National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month, 2019.” This also received the media’s anti-Trump treatment.
You can read Trump’s Presidential Proclamation here.
Reisman finishes by asking:
Improving border security through the measures proposed by President Trump and vehemently opposed by Democratic leadership would further the goals the president laid out in his Proclamation and in the Frederick Douglass Act, goals that would diminish the suffering of women and children. Is opposing President Trump worth the lives of these women and children?
Let me answer that: It is if you’re up to your neck in this perversion – either for money or pleasure or both – and exposure threatens your freedoms.
