“Please Don’t Hurt My Babies” Was The LAST Thing An Intruder Heard, Then His….

In the dead of night, a family in Harris County, Texas, experienced a nightmare that could have ended in tragedy. The story, first reported by KHOU 11 and later picked up by The Blaze, unfolded in the Hockley area on Botkins Road. It serves as a chilling reminder of the importance of self-defense and protecting one’s family.

A grandmother was making breakfast for her three young granddaughters when their world was shattered by the intrusion of three armed, masked men. With guns pointed at her and the girls, she had no chance to call for help. But unbeknownst to the intruders, the family wasn’t alone in the house.

There were three other family members and an employee from the family’s construction business present during the break-in. Among them, the woman’s adult son, who heard the commotion from his bedroom, sprang into action. As he listened to his mother plead, “Please don’t hurt the girls,” he knew it was time to intervene.

With a gun in hand, the son confronted the assailants. Harris County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Felipe Rivera recounted, “They were basically at a standoff, and he discharged first.” While one of the criminals fired a shot inside the residence, they missed their mark. The son, however, struck one of the home invaders.

Upon arrival, the police found two of the suspects had fled the scene in a car. The third, however, lay dead—taken down by the woman’s son. The shaken neighbors, who refused to show their faces on TV, mentioned they had heard Spanish voices and gunshots, marking the first home invasion or burglary they could recall in their community.

Although the authorities didn’t divulge details about the suspects, they did confirm that the criminals were speaking Spanish as they entered the home. Miraculously, none of the eight family members were harmed, and the heroic son faced no charges for protecting his loved ones. The investigators continued to search for answers as to why the family, owners of a construction business, had been targeted.

The old adage, “When seconds count, the police are only minutes away,” rings especially true in this situation. Harris County’s average police response time ranges from 5 to 8 minutes, while Nashville, Tennessee, holds the unfortunate record of 12 minutes. In comparison, the average encounter between a criminal and their victim lasts just 90 seconds.
