Paul Pelosi was charged on Thursday with DUI with injury following a May arrest, According to a news statement from the, Paul Pelosi, 82, allegedly crashed his car with a blood alcohol level of 0.082 percent, which is beyond the legal limit in California the district attorney’s office said that the blood sample was taken at roughly 12:32 a.m., that is approximately two hours and fifteen minutes after the crash, which occurred at 10:17 p.m., as details provided by the DA, the accident occurred at the intersection of State Route 29 and Oakville Cross Road.

Pelosi was arrested at 11:44 p.m., in an online jail record reviewed by an outlet, On Saturday, May 28, he was arrested and formally booked into jail at 4:13 a.m. on the 29th of May the bail amount was set at $5,000. In a statement on Thursday evening, the Napa County District Attorney’s office said, “Based upon the extent of the injuries suffered by the victim, the District Attorney filed misdemeanor charges. This decision is consistent with how our office handles these cases with similar injuries.”

Under state law, Pelosi now could face a short stint in jail and several years’ worth of probation. “The punishment for driving under the influence causing injury as a misdemeanor is set by California law. It includes up to five years of probation, a minimum of five days in jail, installation of an ignition interlock device, fines and fees, completion of a court-ordered drinking driver class, and other terms as appropriate,” the DA’s office said.
