VIA| Two female killer whales, and their calves, were filmed tearing a shark to shreds in California’s Monterey Bay.
The insane footage, captured by wildlife photographer Slater Moore, shows one of the adult whales attack the writhing sevengill shark and dragging it beneath the surface.
Moore spotted the pod of whales with the whale touring company, Monterey Bay Whale Watch, and flew his drone to get a closer look.
It’s extremely rare to see these specific whales, identified by the company as offshore killer whales, let alone seeing them feed.
