An unnamed law enforcement official has told CNN that the DNC had prevented the FBI on numerous occasions from inspecting the servers that had been allegedly hacked.
“The FBI repeatedly stressed to DNC officials the necessity of obtaining direct access to servers and data, only to be rebuffed until well after the initial compromise had been mitigated,” the official stated. “This left the FBI no choice but to rely upon a third party for information.
“These actions caused significant delays and inhibited the FBI from addressing the intrusion earlier,” the source added.
It has been the narrative that the Russians were behind the hack and the leaking of politically damaging documents before the recent presidential election.
Sceptics have been waiting for a report to be released by the FBI about what they found when inspecting the servers but they have been unable to do so.
