Since being handpicked as Joe Biden’s successor after his July dropout, Kamala Harris has raked in an eye-popping $1.5 billion through ActBlue. This sum, reportedly raised by around seven million donors, sounds impressive at first glance. But for a candidate who’s avoided the traditional primary process—and polls as one of the least popular vice presidents in history—many are raising eyebrows at these numbers.
Think about it: Harris wasn’t even voted for by Democrat primary voters. She was handed the nomination by party insiders. And despite four years as Biden’s second-in-command, her approval ratings have consistently circled the drain. For a politician with that kind of track record to amass such a staggering amount of cash, it’s not surprising that some folks are skeptical.
And now, Republicans are finally calling for answers. Congressional Republicans have issued a subpoena to ActBlue, claiming the platform’s lax donor verification policies may have opened the floodgates to illegal foreign donations.
What’s the Deal with ActBlue?
Republican Representative Bryan Steil of Wisconsin, chair of the Committee on House Administration, is leading the charge. According to Steil, the committee had previously requested documents from ActBlue to understand its donor verification process. But what they uncovered has raised alarms: ActBlue’s allegedly weak security protocols may be enabling foreign actors to funnel money into American campaigns under the radar.
In a statement this week, Steil put it bluntly: “We cannot allow foreign actors to influence our elections through campaign financing. The Committee’s investigation uncovered that foreign actors might be taking advantage of ActBlue’s inadequate security protocols.”
Steil went on to clarify that the committee is seeking documents and communications to determine whether ActBlue’s lack of stringent security is allowing foreign money to seep into American politics. If so, that’s a direct threat to the integrity of our elections. But ActBlue isn’t taking these accusations lying down. The organization has hit back, calling the claims “inaccuracies and misrepresentations.”
“We rigorously protect donors’ security and maintain strict anti-fraud compliance practices,” ActBlue insisted, claiming a “zero tolerance” stance toward fraud on its platform.
Suspicious Records, Growing Concerns
Despite ActBlue’s assurances, critics aren’t convinced. For years, watchdogs have flagged suspicious patterns in ActBlue’s donor records that suggest something shady could be going on. In fact, the allegations are serious enough that Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton recently requested a Federal Election Commission investigation into the fundraising platform.
If foreign money is being funneled through ActBlue to Harris’s campaign, that’s a serious breach. What’s telling is the absolute silence from the Democrats, who once championed “election integrity” when Trump was accused of benefiting from foreign influence. Now that their own candidate is under scrutiny? Crickets. Hypocrisy at its finest.
The Stakes Are High, and America Can’t Afford a Compromised Election
Election Day is around the corner, and this race is neck-and-neck. Harris and Trump are so close that the smallest issues could tip the scale either way. This is precisely why we need to protect the integrity of this election now more than ever.
It’s not an exaggeration to say the stakes couldn’t be higher. Under the Biden-Harris administration, Americans have watched the country plunge into chaos in more ways than one. If Harris wins, brace yourselves: the reckless policies that have pushed this country off-course will continue, full throttle. From the endless push for woke agendas to economic policies that ignore the average American, we know what to expect if Harris steps into the Oval Office.
The bottom line? America’s future shouldn’t be determined by foreign dollars propping up a candidate who can’t earn the votes on her own. If this ActBlue subpoena gets to the heart of the matter, we might finally have answers about Harris’s fundraising empire and who, exactly, is funding it. It’s high time we found out if ActBlue’s platform is the free pass foreign interests have been using to influence this election.
