Texas lawmaker Sheila Jackson Lee is so out of touch that she couldn’t tell the difference between Hurricane Sandy and the Sandy Hook shooting… Yeah, really!

The Texas Democrat had an interview with CNN recently regarding Hurricane Harvey. When the lawmaker was asked about her voting record for Hurricane Sandy relief she repeatedly referred to the Sandy Hook shooting victims instead of Superstorm Sandy. Can you say, out of touch??

Conservative Tribune| Lee, who represents the storm-ravaged Harris County congressional district, was asked by Alisyn Camerota about her voting record on Hurricane Sandy relief, to which the Democrat responded that she did help “Sandy Hook victims.”

“As I said, I voted on legislation to help the Sandy Hook victims,” Lee said.

“Superstorm Sandy,” Camerota interjected, attempting to correct Lee’s mistake.

“Sandy super storm,” Lee responded, but just seconds later, she made the same mistake again.

“The Sandy Hook vote took many times and my vote was for the maximum amount of money,” she said.

“I voted on the main legislation for Sandy Hook funding, and so I think it’s important to focus on what was offensively done and here in Houston…we’re going to be on the offensive in introducing a package to make sure that we have the funding for what we need,” she continued.

This woman is not the sharpest pencils in the box. How these people get elected and get re-elected is beyond me! And she never did answer the question that was being asked. The record shows that she DID NOT vote to provide disaster relief funds to the victims of Hurricane Sandy (HR 152).

Whether she misquoted the name and called it Sandy Hook instead of Superstorm Sandy or not, she just couldn’t be bothered to vote. So her stating that she voted for it many times on many votes is a lie. That’s why she kept circling the question, never really addressing it.
