On Friday, pro-life activists rejoiced after the historic ruling made by the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, praising the decision as a victory for the unborn.
The court ruled 6-3 that there was not a constitutional right to abortion and that abortion legislation should be left to the states. Cheers erupted from a group of pro-life supporters outside the court shortly after the decision was announced.
At least 21 states with a combined population of 135 million people have made abortion illegal already or will do so soon.
The court ruled that the Constitution does not grant the right to an abortion and that the people and their elected representatives should once again have the power to control the process.
26 of the country’s 50 states—mostly in the South and the Midwest—are reportedly on the verge of outlawing or restricting abortions, according to a pro-choice organization.
Many pro-life leaders said the fight was just beginning, like many states, including California and New York, still have permissive abortion policies.
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser said that it was a historic day for the unborn.
Country owes a HUGE debt of thanks to all the pro-life human rights activists, scholars, lawyers, politicians, parents, pastors, health care workers, etc., who labored for 50 long and hard years to bring the country to this moment of liberation from Roe. THANK YOU.

Today, the right to life is protected.
This day was in part because the people chose Donald Trump as their president and he nominated pro-life Supreme Court justices.
Just imagine the incredible things that will happen with another 4 years.#Dobbs #RoeVsWade pic.twitter.com/7WvPdtERse

Women who wished to end a pregnancy and kill their unborn child had few options prior to the Roe decision because abortion was illegal in many states.
Following Friday’s decision, women in large swaths of America may have to choose between going to a state where the procedure is still permitted and legal, purchasing abortion pills online, or having a potentially risky illegal abortion.
