A group of BLM supporters marched near the stage at the rally and walled by shouting chants of “Black lives matter.”

The BLM supporters received exactly what they deserved, boos and ridicule, from the people at the pro-Trump rally. They yelled at first, “Don’t give them the spotlight,” and “They don’t exist.”

But no one could have predicted what happened next…

In Washington, D.C., this past weekend, a pro-Trump rally took an unexpected turn of events — a Black Lives Matter spokesperson unexpectedly became a guest speaker.

When the Black Lives Matter activists arrived at the Trump rally to offer a counter-protest, things quickly got heated between the opposing groups, with activists shouting messages like “go home!”

However, Tommy Gunn, the organizer behind the “Mother of All Rallies” event, took a unique path to diffuse the situation — he gave his opponents the microphone.

NowThis News caught the moment on camera when Gunn is seen explaining his decision: “We’re going to give you two minutes of our platform to put your message out. Now whether they disagree or agree with your message is irrelevant. It’s the fact you have the right to have the message.”

The decision was met with a round of applause and cheers from all parties involved.

Hawk Newsome, the president of Black Lives Matter New York, took the microphone and gave a powerful message that received a round of applause from the Trump supporters: “I am an American.”

In his two minutes, Newsome addressed issues such as police brutality and corruption, offering the explanation that they are not “anti-cop” but “anti-bad cop.”

Then after addressing the unusual audience, the activists joined together in chanting “USA, USA, USA”:

“It kind of restored my faith in some of those people because when I spoke truths, they agreed,” Newsome told NowThis. “I feel like two sides that never listen to each other actually made progress today.”

After the speech, Newsome explained that both sides pulled each other aside, shook hands, and had a peaceful dialogue — some even took pictures with each other.pro-Trump
