Opinion| As top Democrats begin aligning against the nomination of William Barr, it’s becoming apparent that they are uncomfortable with President Trump’s choice for attorney general.
Following on yesterday’s stated opposition to Barr by corrupt Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer was the next to parrot the Democrats’ new party line.
Democrats are demanding assurances that, if confirmed, Barr would release the special counsel’s report in its entirety.
Here’s video of Schumer addressing the media:
Schumer looks visibly shaken as he realizes that he is about to lose control of the narrative that Donald Trump will be shown to have colluded with Russia – whatever that is supposed to mean.
Special counsel Robert Mueller’s report is virtually guaranteed to be rife with unproven innuendo that Feinstein-Schumer led Democrats have been counting on for their media allies to use to continue their efforts to delegitimize President Trump.
“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. – Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Propaganda Minister
Barr has stated that he believes the country needs a fair resolution to this sordid affair so that we may begin healing the divide it has caused in our politics.
To accomplish that, Barr has only promised to issue a public statement explaining the special counsel’s ultimate determination.
The approach Barr has mapped out is only fair – to everyone. Every target deserves the presumption of innocence.
At the conclusion of the investigation if no criminal wrongdoing has been found, it would be patently unfair to the target to issue a long report listing every area of inquiry that remained unproven.
If that were to be done, the report could serve as gasoline for the dumpster fire that the mainstream propaganda media has been fanning for the past two-plus years.
We have seen our president suffer through the two-and-a-half years of grossly biased reporting as a result of the politically weaponized Obama Intelligence Community. How many other Americans have suffered in the same fashion, that we never heard about?
General Michael Flynn and Carter Page are two examples. A large percentage of the public still believe they’re guilty. Even Dems who acknowledge that they pleaded guilty to process crimes to stop their financial bleedout, assuage their consciences by considering them collateral damage.
This is not the way that Democrats have always thought. They spent the latter half of the past century defending the rights of the accused, raising the bar for prosecutors, and pushing for lighter sentencing even when statistics warned us that would be a mistake.
How many times over the past sixty years have we heard liberals repeat these words of Benjamin Franklin:
“That it is better 100 guilty Persons should escape than that one innocent Person should suffer” |
That was their stance until they gained power, anyway. |
Democrats have so overplayed this hand that it’s now incumbent upon President Trump to clean out this Department of Justice and FBI before they can do any more damage to innocent Americans.
It’s becoming apparent that Democrat leaders are desperate to prevent that from happening – lest their entire leadership contingent be exposed for their complicity in Obama-era corruption.
