During a press conference Wednesday morning, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump berated NBC’s Katy Tur, telling her to be quiet and accusing her of being biased in favor of his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton.
Tur began by asking Trump about his statement earlier in the press conference asking Russia to somehow hack into Clinton’s deleted emails and release them. “Do you have any qualms about asking a foreign government– Russia, China, anybody– to interfere, to hack into a system, of anybody’s email system?” she asked.
“That’s up to the president,” Trump said. “Let the president talk to them.”
“You said, ‘I welcome them to find those 30,000 emails…’” Tur began reading off.
“Well they probably have them. I’d like to have them released,” Trump interrupted.
“Does that not give you pause?” Tur asked.
“No, it gives me no pause. If they have them, they have them, we might as well [see them],” Trump said. The two then battled to speak over each other, with Tur trying to ask a question and Trump denouncing “crooked Hillary Clinton” and her handling of her emails.
“Here’s what gives me pause– be quiet,” Trump finally snapped at Tur. “I know you want to save her.”
