Major Networks Caught Ignoring Heartfelt Donald Trump Moment Emmanuel July 30, 2017 Viral Three leftist media networks that always jump at the chance to report any negative news about President Donald Trump largely averted their gazes Friday when he held a White House ceremony to honor the officers who helped stop last month’s shooting rampage targeting Republicans on a baseball field in Alexandria, Virginia. According to analysis by the Media Research Center posted to NewsBusters, CBS’s “Evening News” and NBC’s “Nightly News” both ignored the ceremony altogether, while ABC’s “World News Tonight” briefly covered it for a whopping 22 seconds. This seems quite odd, given the magnitude of what occurred on June 14, when a deranged Bernie Sanders supporter who hated Republicans opened fire on a group of GOP congressman at the field where they were practicing for an upcoming game, critically injuring House Majority Whip Steve Scalise in the process. As reported at the time by station KTLA, had Capitol Police officers not been present that morning, “several members of Congress might be dead.” “But their quick action and heroics prevented a shooting rampage from becoming what ‘very well could have been a large-scale massacre,’” Rep. Mo Brooks, an Alabama Republican, said. “The attack proved how vital — and encompassing — the Capitol Police can be.” But for whatever reason — *cough* BIAS *cough* — CBS and NBC chose to ignore the officers being awarded a Medal of Valor by the president Friday. (Does anyone think for a second the same networks would have ignored President Obama giving awards to cops for saving Democrats from a conservative gunman?) “The assault on June 14th reminded us that evil exists in this world, but it also reminded us that heroes walk in our midst, that love triumphs over tragedy, and that our resolve is stronger than ever,” the president said at the ceremony. The whole ceremony may be seen in full below, no thanks to the liberal media: This behavior by the leftist media is nothing new. As NewsBusters noted in a report three years ago, when former President Barack Obama honored 24 members of the military — only three still living — that March, all these networks “devoted full reports” to the ceremony. Yet during the first half of former President George W. Bush’s presidency, all three networks reportedly spent only a meager 52 minutes reporting on military heroes from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. It’s called anti-conservative bias, and despite claims otherwise from leftists allergic to the truth, among the liberal media it runs more rampant than the common cold. And it’s much more dangerous to the health of our democracy.
