Liberals in California have been engaging in a war on guns for a good long time now.

They don’t want any law abiding citizens seemingly to possess any firearms of any kind despite the fact that there have been countless incidents where law abiding citizens could have saved someone else or themselves if they just would have been armed.

However, the stat of California’s war on firearms is soon going to broaden to a war on ammunition itself as a ban on the purchase of bullets purchased out of state takes effect on January 1 of next year.

This is completely and totally ridiculous before we even get into any of the particulars. For years, relatives of mine that lived in Chicago would drive across the border into nearby Indiana to go shopping.

Most of the time is was for groceries but one time they decided to buy a television. Think about how silly it would be to make it illegal to own a television that wasn’t purchased in your home state.

Anyway, this is of course one of the many steps that is going into effect that will place ammunition under the same controls that Democratic lawmakers are trying to place guns under.

According to the Sacramento Bee, it will also be illegal “to transfer or buy ammo” from anyone other than a licensed dealer within the state, beginning January 1. California residents can order ammunition from a catalog as long as they have that ammunition shipped to a licensed dealer for pickup. The dealer will then add a “processing fee” to the cost of the ammunition.

In this scenario, a “processing fee” is just another tax that law-abiding citizens will pay for the bullets they buy.
Then, in 2019, all ammunition purchasers will be required to undergo a background check like those currently required for firearm sales.

That background check will require the law-abiding citizen to “pay a $1 state fee” for the check. That “fee” is yet another tax.

This is precisely how what liberals are trying to do works. The first thing they do is pass a law saying that someone in California can only possess ammo that is bought in California.

They pass the law then narrowing the options of acquisition even further so that it’s only legal to have ammo that you bought from a licensed dealer.

This kind of over regulation in anything is bad, and especially from self defense.

Once what is essentially a tax is firmly in place lawmakers can then adjust the tax to quite seriously suit whatever it is that they wanted to buy that week.

Now all they have to do is forbid the sale of ammo. Of course none of this will slow down the criminals because they will not obey that is why they are criminals. It is clear what the progressives want a populace that will never be able to defend themselves from Tyranny.
