A photo is going viral after a picture was taken during a high school football game in North Carolina.
According to a Facebook post, the incident took place during a North East Guilford football game, where one boy, Grayson Bonomo, was injured. After his mother, Colleen Michele, took him to the hospital, she was a bit more than surprised after she got a text message.
While all eyes were focused on Bonomo as he was being tended to by medial professionals, someone spotted quite the unusual instance. According to Michele, “#5 Dillon Micheal Goedeck was praying for my son,” prompting a picture to be taken.
After witnessing the amazing sight, she said, “This is something every parent should be proud of. I don’t know who took the photo but I want to say thank you. This is news worthy…..this is how our children should handle things when they have no control over the situation. Thank you again to whoever you are!!!”
The Facebook post now has been liked over 16k times and shared over 4k times as well.
Commenters showed full support over Goedeck. One wrote, “NFL needs a real lesson from these young people to learn why and how to kneel, Not to disrespect the flag, anthem and our country, but to pray for one another and our country.”
Some commenters also give credits to Goedeck mother for raising him right. Specially one comment saying, “Prayers for the injured player. For the parents of the young man shown praying for him, you have obviously done a wonderful job teaching him about life, love and God! Kudos!!! Well done!!”
After the outpouring of support, Colleen Michele said, “I want to say thank you to everyone who has taken a minute to like or comment. I never expected this to happen. Our kids are a gift from God. The way they handle their troubles shows what kind of men they will become. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Dillon for many years. It’s like a great big family with many arms reaching out. Grayson and Dillon have been there for each other thru many things and their friendship is a blessing. I love you guys. I call you my adopted kids just as his mom calls mine the same. Jennifer Welker Lipford should be proud of her young man. She’s done a great job raising him!”
