He Pulled the Plug on His Wife & Whispered 5 Words in Her Ear—But He NEVER Expected This

“Everything can be taken away. You can wake up one day and everything is fine, and then your life is a mess,” said Steven Pellettiere-Swapp. “Keep your family close and don’t let them go.”

Steven’s eye-opening statement came after he walked in on his mom Lyndee completely unconscious one day last month. The 45-year-old woman went into a coma for 12 days straight, and doctors had little hope for her recovery. They told her family that there was simply nothing more they could do.

Per Lyndee’s wishes, the family decided to stop her life support so that they could preserve her organs for donation. Right before they did, her family members came in individually to say their final goodbyes. What they didn’t know, is that Lyndee could hear every word.

“I remember people talking to me,” she said. “I remember when people came to visit, my niece reading to me.”

Lyndee would try her hardest to speak, but she just couldn’t get the words to come out.

“[Doctors] told [my family] that I would start to make noises when they turned off life support. I was very agitating. I couldn’t move. I couldn’t talk, couldn’t respond. I could just hear conversations around me and about me,” she added. “I remember a doctor opening my eyes, messing with me, and telling my family I was not reacting.”

The truth is that Lyndee was fighting to communicate, but her body simply wouldn’t allow it.

After they pulled the plug, her husband whispered softly in her ear: “I need you to fight.”

“I need you to fight,” he repeated once more.

Then, in a completely unexplainable miracle moment, Lyndee mustered up the ability to say, “I’m a fighter.” She kept saying it in her head over and over, but the words finally came out of her mouth, plain as day!

Her family could hardly believe their ears! Immediately, they knew there was hope and that their fighting mama was going to make it through this.

“Just because you are not conscious does not mean you cannot hear,” Lyndee told CBS 5 Arizona. “So you should talk to your loved ones if you are in that situation. They hear you.”

Never underestimate the healing power that rests in a whisper of courage, the will to survive, and a family’s unfailing love.
